Silkworms are very special. They only eat mulberry leaves. If there are no more mulberry leaves, maybe there will be no more silkworms. Also there are a limited number of places in the world where mulberry trees can live, and in turn there are a limited number of places in the world where silkworms can be raised. Once the silkworms have eaten a lot of leaves, and have grown be big and fat, they change to a slightly yellow color. The silkworm then looks for a good place to spin a cocoon.
